The top images are my very first attempt at mixed media. I didn't like the way it turned out so I tried a second time and it came out much better.
How I made it: I sponged the black background. (In the first attempt I used white paint and created fingerprints, not used on the second attempt). Then I used some square stencils to add some texture, seen in silver. In the second attempt I brushed gold in various areas, not used in the first attempt, and I made a bullet stamp and stamped that in various areas. Then I burned newspaper that I bought from the Mob Museum in Las Vegas and glued that to both sides of my project.
The bottom second attempt was die cut into a folded envelope.
